1.Tell us why anyone would want come to your hometown?
My father always used to say “You’ll understand when you have kids of your own” Raising children is painful and heartwarming all at the same time. Your heart walks around outside of your body. You are constantly worried about where they are, if they are safe, and if they are happy. I didn’t get it then, I totally get it now!! The worry doesn’t end when they are grown.

2.What are the (2) most important things in your closet and why?
This next stage! I have been fortunate enough to be able to raise my children and now we will be empty nesters this year. I am excited to see where my children’s lives will take them, where life will lead us. Where will my pageant road take me? Will we travel? The opportunities are endless. My husband and I have never known a time in our lives without children and we can get to know each other on a totally different level.

3.What do you love to cook and why?
I currently teach Maine Studies for Middle School. I want to teach more about history. There are so many great characters and periods in time to share with my students and talk about. So much literature has been written about history. I can be animated when I talk about history. Walking around the classroom and involving the students in the stories is exciting. History covers just about every topic you would want to know about.

4.If you had an extra hour each day, what would you do?
In your late 30’s most people are in the middle of raising children. You are young enough to still have many of those that you love in your life for support. You are young enough to have energy to work hard and raise children and have fun, but old enough to appreciate those around you and learn from. I would choose that age range. Learning why you’re here and what you have to offer.

5.Describe the dirtiest job you have ever had to do?
Doing something that I have never done before, I’m tired of Chinese food!! A scavenger hunt with something exciting at the end, I want to go zip lining or take a dinner cruise on a schooner boat. Dinner on the Riverwalk in San Antonio or at the edge of the water with a picnic basket watching the sun set. A helicopter ride! I’ve never done one of those!! Spontaneous is best!!
