1.Tell us why anyone would want come to your hometown?
The phrase “Be the Change” to me means that in order to change the world one step at a time, you must first change yourself. Then you must learn to lead by example. My platform of “Recovery is a New Beginning” is a first person journey out of addiction. The horrible experiences I went through have taught me the skills needed to help others escape their own addictions.

2.What are the (2) most important things in your closet and why?
My husband is a hard-working family man. He always places our sons and me before himself. For example, a couple years ago I had a big event that I had worked hard for and knowing how important it was to me that weekend, he hid the fact he was having symptoms of an oncoming heart attack. He was trying not to ruin my big day but what he didn’t realize is that he meant more to me than anything that was happing that weekend. He was lucky that the heart attack he endured did not cause him to leave us so I would describe him as a loyal, loving, supportive, stubborn, disabled war veteran, and the best husband in the whole world. He is the yin to my yang.

3.What do you love to cook and why?
As a child, Christmas Eve was always so special to me because I was able to spend it at my grandparent’s house and visit with my biological father’s side of the family. In 2001, we did not realize that this would be the last year we would all be together, and I wish I could have frozen time to make this memory last forever.

4.If you had an extra hour each day, what would you do?
I had a rare opportunity in high school. I started school in Illinois, where I was bullied making me awkward and shy. My family moved to Mississippi at the end of my sophomore year so my mother could take care of her father. I had the unique experience of reinventing myself and by the end of my senior year, the kids at my new high school would say I was energetic, outgoing, and talented.

5.Describe the dirtiest job you have ever had to do?
A boat. A Monterey 302 Cruiser. My husband is a sailor. He is a United States Navy veteran and a former Merchant Mariner. He is the happiest when he is on the water. I would also make sure it has the best fishing equipment since he loves to go fishing.
