1.Tell us why anyone would want come to your hometown?
Five generations ago, my family planted their roots in Sioux Falls and created what is now our state's oldest family-owned business. What kept our family in the area is what would entice anyone to visit. Our amazing downtown produces all of the options for food, entertainment and community. Right outside of town starts the sprawling farms and beauty that our state is known for along with the small-town midwestern values that represent our state.

2.What are the (2) most important things in your closet and why?
I was gifted a ribbon-shaped pin during daughter’s cancer treatment. It reminds me of the strength all of us had during this time and the many lessons we learned during those tough years as a family. Our families' passports remind me of the many fun memories we have had on trips. Those reminders push me daily to do my best so we can create more freedom in our family to go on more adventures together.

3.What do you love to cook and why?
I enjoy baking more than cooking a meal. I can’t say I have perfected more than the pecan pie that my dad requests for holidays. Typically, I go to Pinterest for some fun ideas depending on the occasion. Many times I would have to confess those have turned into a “Pinterest fail.” Thankfully, my husband has always been the one in our house who enjoys cooking and makes sure we are all well fed.

4.If you had an extra hour each day, what would you do?
I would spend time at the gym. When I get time in at the gym, I feel so much better about so many areas in life. I love that I’m able to spend time on myself for a moment in the day. Many times I read, listen to podcasts or watch a movie while working out. My gym also has a sauna. In the cold South Dakota weather, that feels really nice.

5.Describe the dirtiest job you have ever had to do?
Being a business owner of a salon, there are many things I end up fixing. I would say some of the things I have had to do outweighs the dirty jobs of being a mom. Keeping the pipes under the shampoo bowls cleaned out so that we don’t have clogs gets pretty gross. I fixed it the first time this happened many years ago and have now been given the job of the salon plumber.
