What's the most sensible thing you've ever heard someone say?
“You may not always have a comfortable life and you will not always be able to solve all of the world’s problems at once, but don’t ever underestimate the importance you can have because history has shown us that courage can be contagious, and hope can take on a life of its own”- Michelle Obama.
What gets you excited about life?
My children. Through them I see hope, happiness, and optimism. Their inherent need to explore and play makes me excited about life. The past year has been difficult for so many. However, I found that they had the opportunity to expand their imaginations, explore the outdoors, and just be kids. They made a difficult time a memorable and precious one.
If you had to teach something what would you teach?
Government or Public Policy. I minored in Political Science which led me to studying political philosophers such as John Locke and Jean-Jacques Rousseau. It’s fascinating to see how their philosophies have influenced modern day governments across the world. I think now more than ever it is important that we understand the elements that make us similar instead of different, and that we understand the role that government play in lives. Education is our greatest tool.
How old would you be if you didn't know how old you are?
I am forever 25 at heart. Young enough to have fun, but old enough to know better.
What is your idea of a fun date night?
In 2019 I would have said “romantic dinner at my favorite restaurant, followed by live music or a professional sports game” but things are different. Right now, I am happy strolling through Costco in a mask or having a glass of wine on our driveway with the neighbors. It doesn’t matter where we are just as long as we are spending time together.
